How does laser skin resurfacing work?

Pixel Perfect® uses beams of light. The laser sends short, concentrated, pulsating beams of light at irregular skin texture. This removes unwanted, damaged skin in a very precise manner, one layer at a time.

A laser skin resurfacing targeted approach means that there are less problems with hypopigmentation, or a lightening of skin. It removes your outer layer of skin called the epidermis. It simultaneously heats the underlying skin, called the dermis. This actually works to stimulate growth of new collagen fibers. As the treated area heals, the new skin that forms is smoother and firmer.

Who are good candidates for Pixel Perfect®?

Is Pixel Perfect® painful?

Most of the time it will feel like a mild sunburn. You'll have some redness and swelling. You may also experience mild itching for a day, signifying you're on the way to healing.

Is there downtime?

We recommend patients take a period of rest approximately 12 hours, and avoid strenuous activity for the next several days. Patients return to work within 4-7 days after the procedure.

How long is the procedure?

The procedure can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours.
